We try to collect as little as possible, and we are careful with what we do collect. Here it is in plain language.

What we do not collect

We do not collect patient or medical information. Please do not send us symptoms, diagnoses, medications, insurance member IDs, medical records, or private details about another person.
We do not store IP addresses in our analytics.
We do not sell your personal information.

Analytics

We measure how the site is used with privacy-safe, aggregate counts only.

We count a small, fixed set of actions — for example, a provider profile being viewed, a “call” or “website” button being clicked, or a form being submitted.
Each action only adds +1 to a daily total for that action (optionally tied to a provider or page). We do not record who did it.
We do not store IP addresses, names, emails, review text, search terms, symptoms, diagnoses, medications, or any free text you type. Only the action name and an optional provider/page reference are counted.
Only a fixed allowlist of action names is accepted; anything else is rejected.

In short: we can see how many people did a thing on a given day — never who.

Reviews and email

If you submit a review, we ask for your email only to verify the review. We store it as a one-way hash, and your email is never shown publicly. Your chosen display name is shown; your email is not.

Forms

When you submit a provider listing, claim, inquiry, review, or similar form, we store what you enter so we can moderate and respond to it. Please do not include private medical details in any form.

Analytics (first-party and privacy-safe)

We run our own first-party analytics to understand which pages and listings are useful and to improve the site. We do not use Google Analytics or sell your behavior to advertisers.

What we measure: page views, clicks on things like “call”, “visit website”, “claim listing”, “write a review”, and job applications; which general traffic source (a search engine or referring website domain) and campaign tags (UTM) brought you here; a coarse device type (mobile/desktop), browser family, and country; and random first-party IDs (a session and visitor id) that let us count unique visits without identifying you.

What we never store: your IP address, your full browser user-agent, your name, email, phone number, anything you type into a form, review text, or any symptoms, diagnoses, medications, insurance member IDs, or other private health information. Public visitors are never individually identified.

Provider analytics: if you claim a listing, your provider dashboard shows analytics for your own listing only (views, clicks, reviews). Comparisons to other providers appear only as anonymized category averages, and only when enough providers exist to keep them anonymous.

Your choices: if your browser sends a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal, we do not load analytics at all. Detailed event data is kept for a limited time (about 90 days); only anonymous aggregate totals are retained longer.

Jobs board & apply clicks

When you click Apply on a job, we record an anonymous click (which job, the page, the referring domain, and an anonymous session id — never your IP, name, or email) and then send you to the employer’s or job partner’s apply page. Some jobs come from external job partners; clicking or applying to those may earn us a referral fee. We don’t run the application itself — that happens on the employer/partner site under their privacy policy.

Public data we show

The official data on our public-data tools (ratings, deficiencies, penalties, Open Payments, Medicaid utilization, Marketplace plans) comes from government public datasets and is facility/aggregate-level only — never patient-level data. We store only public fields and show each module’s source and import date. How we source and match this data is documented in our Methodology.
