Entity Matching — Methodology
How we link our provider pages to official records, with confidence.
Plain-language policy
Official datasets identify facilities by codes like the CCN (CMS Certification Number) and NPI. To show a facility’s official data on its page, we must confidently match our listing to the right official record.
- How we match: by identifier (CCN/NPI) when available, otherwise by name + city + state + ZIP/phone.
- Confidence + method: every match stores a match method and a confidence score, shown on the page as High / Medium / Low.
- Human review: low-confidence matches are not shown publicly until an admin reviews and approves them. This prevents attaching the wrong facility’s data to a listing.
- You’ll always see the source. Matched modules link to the official source and this methodology.
