We believe you should always be able to tell what is paid for and what is not. This page lists our disclosures in plain language.

Paid and sponsored provider profiles

Some providers pay for an enhanced or featured profile. Any paid or sponsored profile is clearly labeled (for example, with a “Sponsored” badge and a disclosure). Paid status does not affect a provider’s rating, the reviews shown, or its ranking in ways that imply clinical quality or endorsement.

Featured jobs and events

Featured job and event listings are labeled as featured. Featuring is a paid or editorial placement and does not imply endorsement.

Sponsored guides and affiliate links

If a guide is sponsored, or a link is an affiliate link (we may earn a commission if you click or buy), it is disclosed on the page where it appears. Sponsorship never lets a sponsor change our health information or moderation decisions.

Review-integrity rules

These rules are part of our Review Policy:

• Providers cannot pay to remove or suppress reviews, including negative ones.
• Paid profiles do not affect ratings. Ratings come only from published reviews and are independent of any payment.
• Incentivized reviews must disclose the incentive. Reviewers who received a gift, discount, or other benefit must say so, and that disclosure is shown.
• Staff and insider reviews must disclose the relationship. Anyone connected to a provider must disclose that connection.
• Fake reviews are prohibited, and review scores are based only on published reviews.

Labels we use

When a page or listing involves money, we show a clear, explained label — never a vague word like “partnered” on its own.

• Sponsored guide — a guide whose creation was paid for by a sponsor. Sponsorship does not buy editorial control.
• Affiliate links — links where we may earn a commission if you click or buy, at no extra cost to you. Links never change our recommendations.
• Paid profile — a provider that pays for an enhanced profile. Paid status does not affect ratings or reviews, and a provider cannot pay to remove or suppress reviews.
• Partner content — content produced with an outside organization. Partners do not control our editorial decisions.
• Featured job / event — a paid or editorial placement, labeled as featured.

If you ever see paid or sponsored content here without a visible label, that is a mistake — please tell us.

Provider dashboards and analytics

Providers who claim their listing get a dashboard with analytics for their own listing only — profile views, clicks (call/website/directions), reviews, and job performance. Paid plans unlock additional analytics (daily trends, benchmarks against anonymized category averages, exportable monthly reports). These metrics are estimates to help providers understand engagement; we do not guarantee any specific number of leads, calls, or revenue.

Paid public-data monitoring

Claimed providers can monitor the official public data linked to their facility from their dashboard. Some monitoring features are paid:

• Official-data change alerts (Verified and Premium plans) — notifications when official measures, deficiencies, penalties, or ownership records change.
• Monthly public-data report with benchmarks against anonymized comparable facilities (Premium plan).

These are monitoring and insight features. A paid plan never lets a provider remove, hide, or alter official public data, and never lets a provider remove or suppress negative reviews. Official data and reviews are shown the same way regardless of whether a provider pays. We don’t guarantee outcomes.

Research Pro

Research Pro is a paid plan for researchers and organizations that unlocks bulk dataset access, larger previews, CSV exports (rate-limited and audited), ownership-graph export, saved searches, alerts, and a future API. Public visitors can always browse and preview the public-data tools for free; locked Pro features are clearly labeled, never hidden or disguised. Research Pro works with aggregate public data only — it does not include any provider’s private dashboard analytics.

Sponsored reports

We publish periodic public-data reports. Some are sponsored. Sponsored reports are clearly labeled with a “Sponsored” tag and a disclosure. Sponsorship may fund production but never controls our data, methodology, or conclusions, and can never change a provider’s official data or reviews.

External job listings

Some job listings come from external job partners/feeds. Clicking “apply” on those may redirect you to a partner site, and such redirects may earn us a referral fee. These listings are labeled, and a referral relationship never changes a listing’s ranking or a provider’s reviews.

Jobs board

• Local provider jobs are posted by claimed providers and rank above partner jobs. No special disclosure unless paid or featured.
• Featured jobs are labeled “Featured”; paid direct listings are labeled “Paid listing”.
• Partner jobs come from external job feeds and are labeled “Partner job.” Grand Rapids Care may earn revenue when users click or apply to them. Partner jobs never outrank genuine local provider jobs and are never disguised as local listings. When you apply to a partner job you leave our site for the employer or partner website.

Review independence

Reviews come from real, signed-in users and are never altered, removed, or re-ordered in exchange for payment. A paid plan never buys better reviews, hides negative reviews, or improves a provider’s ranking.

Public-data disclaimers

We show official public data alongside community information. These disclaimers also appear next to the relevant tools, and the full details are on our Methodology pages.

General

• Grand Rapids Care summarizes public data and community information.
• This is not medical advice.
• Official public data may lag current conditions.
• Always verify details directly with the provider.
• For emergencies, call 911.

Official provider data (methodology)

• Official quality, inspection, and penalty data is sourced from public datasets.
• Missing data does not necessarily mean zero problems.
• “Unavailable” means unavailable in the imported source — not that the measure is zero.

Reviews (methodology)

• Community reviews are user-submitted experience signals.
• Reviews are separate from official quality measures.
• Paid providers cannot pay to remove negative reviews.

Open Payments (methodology)

• Open Payments shows reported financial relationships.
• It does not prove wrongdoing, bias, clinical quality, or conflict by itself.
• Data should be interpreted in context.

Medicaid (methodology)

• Medicaid utilization data is aggregate public reporting.
• It is not patient-level data.
• It is not clinical or prescribing advice.

Marketplace (methodology)

• Marketplace PUF data is public plan data.
• Verify plan availability, network, rates, benefits, and enrollment details with official Marketplace or insurer sources.
